New Chair of The Coventry Partnership

Roger LewisAs of 15 July 2010 Roger Lewis will be the new Chair of The Coventry Partnership to find out more visit Coventry Partnership Board. 

Roger Lewis is the Director and Company Secretary of Peugeot Citroen group in Coventry and has worked in the motor industry for 15 years from 1982.

He said "I see my year as Chairman as an opportunity to harness the tremendous enthusiasm for Coventry which exists within the varied membership of the Partnership.

All in all, I want Coventry to be different to every other comparable city, and to be best positioned to take advantage of future opportunities for growth and increased prosperity in a vastly different economic and environmental climate"

Coventry Community Cohesion Awards 2010 - The Results

The Bhangra Heads

Fourteen projects from across the private, public, voluntary, community and youth sectors in Coventry came together at the city's first Community Cohesion Awards on Wednesday 21 July at St. Mary's Guildhall.

Entertainment was provided by The Bhangra Heads, Sky1's "Got to Dance" semi-finalists, as well as a rap performance from Coventry's Sporting Future's Radford Crew and a short drama from The Belgrade Theatre.

London 2012

With Coventry now confirmed as an Olympic Host city for London 2012, the Community Empowerment Network (CEN) is encouraging community involvement in the build up to the Olympics after its recent Community Information fair, which took place on July 24

CovJam Comp Winner

The winning idea from a competition held within the recent 3-day online city-wide CovJam will be now turned into reality by Coventry City Council. Derek Nisbet's idea is for a painted blue line to guide people from the railway station to the city centre.

The Drinking Experiment

A drinking experiment has been carried out by the Community Safety Team with the help of Mercia FM. Andy Goulding, Mercia's breakfast presenter, drank alcohol throughout his shift to show listeners the effects it had on him mentally and physically.
