Economy, Learning Skills and Employment

Economy, Learning, Skills and Employment is the newest theme group of the Coventry Partnership - the result of a merger between the Job Strategy Group and the Learning and Training theme groups.

The Economy, Learning, Skills and Employment Group will bring together the resources of key organisations in Coventry and the sub-Region to support economic and social inclusion by developing strategies for increasing the employment, education and skills of local people.

The group will work with stakeholders to:

Increase the supply of appropriately skilled labour to meet employer demand
Secure and sustain employment opportunities for local people and to engage and
Develop individuals to improve their employability and capacity for active community involvement

In order to achieve this they are working towards a number of outcomes:

There we will be fewer households in priority neighbourhoods and communities with nobody in paid employment
There will be improvements to advice services so that people get the benefits to which they are entitled
There will be a wider range of business and job opportunities across the city
The number of adults living in our priority neighbourhoods accessing and succeeding in education and training will have risen faster than the rest of the city.
