Environment

Environment Theme Group logoThe Theme Group the 'Environment Group' has representatives from Coventry City Council’s City Services, Groundwork, West Midlands Fire Service, Agenda 21, anti-social behaviour officer and others.

The group’s priority is to:

  • Protect and improve our environment.  

In order to achieve this they are working towards a number of outcomes:

  1. By 2010 will make more sustainable use of natural resources - less energy anmd water will be used, less waste and pollution will be oroduced, and more waste will be recycled, the city will be a better place for wildlife.
  2. By 2010 people will see thjeir neighbourhoods, parks and open spaces as more attractive and enjoyable places to be and these improvements will be more rapid in our priority neighbourhoods and communities.
  3. By 2010 people will have a greater awareness and understanding of how they can contribute to a better environment.
