The executive Environment Theme Group re-launched in September 2008. The group will adopt a citywide strategic overview of environmental matters. It will consist of leaders from across the City from all sectors, recognising the strategic importance of effective environmental management to the city's long term prosperity.
Tackling climate change is one of two cross cutting themes identified in the Sustainable Community Strategy and there are two dedicated themes that look to address environmental issues:
Cleaner, greener local streets and open spaces
Making a positive environmental contribution and tackling climate change
