Strategic Assessments

There are a number of strategic assessments being undertaken by Coventry Partnership including the Child Poverty Assessment, the Local Economic Assessment and the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). Although the timescales for these assessments and the work they are designed inform varies, there is overlap in the information included. Please click here for information included in strategic assessments.

It was agreed at the PIE group meeting in January 2010 that a consistent approach to these different assessments would be beneficial and enable a more efficient use of data. Suggestions for a consistent approach to the assessments include a similar layout of information/indicators in each assessment - for examples please see the four pages of the child poverty assessment example that measured one issue:

Child Poverty 1

Child Poverty 2

Child Poverty 3

Child Poverty 4

The inclusion of a gazetteer in all assessments to provide an 'at a glance' summary of the information (examples include Draft State of the City gazetteer and JSNA gazetteer) and a common design to the assessments.

Examples of this include:

Example 1

Example 2
