The Coventry Partnership is the local name for Coventry's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). The Partnership is made up of senior people from Coventry's key public, private, community and voluntary organisations.
What is its purpose?
Following the success of its predecessor, the City Forum, the government has encouraged many other areas and city's such as Coventry to establish Partnerships which are designed to "Improve mainstream services to produce better outcomes in the most deprived areas and contribute to sustainable development."
To work together to provide better local & citywide services particularly focussing on less well off areas of the city.
By:
planning what to do;
delivering their actions;
finding out if they have been successful
and if they have
building on these successful activities and integrating them into their main services so that they become more responsive and address the real needs of local people.
The aim of the Partnership is:
"To bring together the resources, energy and creativity of key organisations, groups, communities and people in a single group to work to meet the economic, social and environmental needs of the City of Coventry and the health and well being of its people."
The objectives of the Partnership are:
To set the overall strategic vision for the City of Coventry and to secure partnership commitment and action to delivering the vision
To implement and further develop Coventry's Community Plan or Strategy
To develop and deliver the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy for Coventry to meet local needs and priorities and narrow the gap between the most disadvantaged communities and the rest of the city
To work with statutory bodies in developing and implementing public service agreements to improve public service
To bring about the strategic alignment and integration of plans, partnerships and initiatives within Coventry.
