There is a new way of working with residents and finding out what’s important to you. Coventry is working to develop a new way of working with the community in the city. This new working relationship with the community will help people play a bigger role in their neighbourhoods.
Residents will be working alongside organisations and other communities across the city to create a whole new way of designing and delivering the services you need. It means the Council and other organisations will change from ‘doing things for people’ to ‘doing things alongside people’.
This is a real change to how things have worked in the past and we will be asking residents to work with councillors and partner organisations to build local community networks, draw up plans and make decisions on the issues that matter to residents and their neighbours.
Every private, public and voluntary organisation with an interest in our city’s future needs to work with local people to help improve life for everyone.
Here you can find information and sources that can help you manage a project, setup a new project, start your own community group, and looking for funding and support you may need. Here you can also look at the current initiatives and projects that taking place in the city and that are based on this new way of working.
