There is a new way of working with residents and finding out what’s important to you. A new partnership approach called ‘Empowered Citizens, Networked Communities’ will help people play a bigger part in their neighbourhoods.
Residents will be working alongside organisations and other communities across the city to create a whole new way of designing and delivering the services you need. It means the Council and other organisations will change from ‘doing things for people’ to ‘doing things alongside people’.
This is a real change to how things have worked in the past and we will be asking residents to work with councillors and partner organisations to build local community networks, draw up plans and make decisions on the issues that matter to you and your neighbours.
It recognises that every private, public and voluntary organisation with an interest in our city’s future needs to work with local people to help improve life for everyone.
