Health and Wellbeing logoThe Health and Well-Being Theme Group brings together people from the Coventry Teaching Primary Care Trust, University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, Coventry City Council and other partners to achieve a number of outcomes:

1.    By 2010 people in Coventry will be living healthier lives, which will contribute towards people living longer in the future-improvements will happen most quickly in priority neighbourhoods and communities.

2.    By 2010 there will be better access to services to maintain and improve safe and healthy living, and benefits will be reported most quickly by priority neighbourhoods and communities. 

 

The Group has five priorities for 2007/08:

  • Reducing the level of smoking in the city
  • Reduce the number of people abusing alcohol
  • Improve people’s sexual health, including a reduction in the level of teenage pregnancy
  • Improving the parenting skills of young people and making it easier to access specialist child and adolescent mental health services
  • Reduce the rate of perinatal and infant mortality
