Coventry Learning Disabilities Partnership Board

Who are we?

Coventry Learning Disabilities Partnership Board's logoThe Coventry Learning Disabilities Partnership Board is a group of organisations working together to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in Coventry.

We have established a real working partnership with people with learning disabilities, carers and all staff and agencies in the city so that people with learning disabilities are:

  • Encouraged to make real choices and decisions about where and how they live their lives
  • Enabled to lead full and purposeful lives in their communities and to develop a range of friendships, activities, relationships and employment
  • Carers are recognised and supported in their role and:
  • Receive support for as long as they and the service user wish
  • Enabled to take part in person centred planning

Services support people to get the kind of life they want for themselves and are:

  • Good quality, cost effective and support people
  • Regularly evaluated and continually improved
  • Delivered locally as a matter of course

We meet every month and have people with learning disabilities and family carers on the Board as active members.

What do we do?

  • Influence plans for people with learning disabilities in Coventry
  • Checking we have the right servuces and support available and that they are working properly
  • Making sure that we have plans for change and that change can happen
  • Passing information to everyone about the development of services
  • Making sure that everyone knows what is happening and what they have to do
  • Work to achieve the Coventry Learning Disabilities Strategy

How we do our work

To help the Partnership do its work they have set up smaller sub-groups.

They have a number of sub-groups, which are: Employment, Health, Housing, Minority Ethnic Communities, Quality, Transition, Transport and  Workforce Development.

Having your say! Would you like to get involved?

We would like more people with learning disabilities and family carers to be involved in our sub-group meetings.
