Physical and Sensory Impairment Partnership

What we do:Physical and Sensory Impairment Partnership's logo

  • Influence plans for people with physical and/or sensory impairments in Coventry
  • Check there are the right services and support available and that they are working properly
  • Make sure that there are plans for change and that change can happen
  • Pass information to everyone about the development of services
  • Make sure that everyone knows what is happening and what they have to do

How we do our work:

The Physical and Sensory Impairment Partnership represents a diverse range of peopleThere is a combined reference group that meets monthly and includes people from the following groups:

  • Individual service users with physical and/or sensory impairment
  • Black, minority, ethnic service users with physical and/or sensory impairment
  • Carers of individuals with physical and/or sensory impairments
  • Community and voluntary organisations involved with individuals with physical and/or sensory impairment

The combined reference group discusses issues which they consider to be a priority for people with physical and/or sensory impairments in Coventry. These discussions have included topics such as access to information, equalities, housing and transport.

The reference group has eight representatives who take the group's views forward to the Physical and Sensory Impairment Partnership Board. This Partnership Board meets every two months. At these meetings, they get together with representatives from other partnership agencies in order to inform, plan and develop services for people with physical and/or sensory impairments.

Membership of the Partnership Board consists of:

  • 2x Coventry City Council Community Services
  • 2x Teaching Primary Care Trust
  • 2x University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire
